Marco Iannaccone / Scarlet Lovejoy

Parthenope

This performance is a metaphor on one of the problems that most afflict our beautiful city of Naples: the disposal of waste and the environmental degradation that necessarily derives from it. Parthenope and therefore the city of Naples and in this representation the performer is dressed as a mermaid whose tail is made of many bags for garbage and with a drip attached to the arm to detoxify from poisons and contaminated waters that surround it. Partenope and lying on the ground and at one point wearing a gas mask and screaming at the present to wake up, to react, to rebel and not to further precipitate the fate of this city. Sing: “Scetat Caruli that the air is toxic” instead of “and doce”.
