Today I'm giving numbers

Marco Iannaccone, aka Scarlet LoveJoy, presents a new photographic project on the Neapolitan Smorfia, the ancient popular wisdom that assigns a meaning to each bingo number.

A gallery of 90 photos, one for each issue of La Smorfia, created specifically to represent his personal vision of the meaning attributed to the number. The project ties in with the release of his new novel, "La Smorfia di Alice," in which the drawing of numbers from a bingo card prompted Marco, chapter after chapter, to create a delicate fairy tale full of imaginative and delirious twists. These 90 colorful photographs portray Marco and his husband Stefano in ingenious scenic settings that evoke a fantastical story, a bitter reflection, a cosmic smile, or immortalize landscapes filled with poetic inspiration. The result is a stunning photographic theater of comical faces, allegorical settings, and metaphorical references, drawing on culture, tradition, and folklore, all seasoned with boundless irony.
